It is coming up to the aniversery of the 1953 Floods at the end Of Jan Have you a story to tell? I was only 7 year old then and It was all a bit of a adventure What memories do you have?
There is a channel 4 production called The day Britain Goes Under This is the story of Flooding and containes footage of the great British weather that was air earlier this year. Which I made a small contribution. I think it will be aired on the 27th December at approx 8pm I hope you find it interesting Geoff Also I have just completed a interview for a bbc Play about Canvey 1953 flood which should go into full production soon Keep watching
As they say, I can still, if I close my eyes and try, see Furtherwick Road on the afternoon of 1st Feb. And I can still smell the smell of flooded houses; the river mud soaked into the carpets!
I Filmed for two and a half hours for the Lion Films yesterday for a BBC documentary being aired in August.It will proberbly only get about 10 mins of airtime by the time it is cut about. Also my new book will be out in August. Still looking for old photos for the next 2009 Calender Send as attachment to geoff@canvey.com with a discripion who is in the picture and Year ect.
